Mayor Giuliani and his Commissioner are planning an Strategy to fight Drugs and guns problems and is looking for improve the drug situation. This Strategy don't mention any drug treatment eventhough a year in a residential center is less expensive( 20,000)than maintain a prisioner at Riskers Island (60,000). Making Decisions.

We voted to go to The Museum of sex, because it was the one that had more votes so we all agrees with the decision made.
I think that the reason why nobody went was because maybe we "needed" a kind of iniciative from the group that was promoting the Museum of Sex.
I also have to say that I suggested to go there but the night before we met I realized that we was going to a different place so I accepted to go because the instructions said that we could defect so we were free to choose another place. I voted for the Museum of Ses, one, because my choosen museum was expensive and twos, because my other option was The Museum of Sex.

SEAPORT MUSEUM!

Yesterday ( 04-18-06) me and my classmates: Magdeline, Vilma, Martina and Slanking went to Seaport. First we planed to go to the Statue of Liberty but when we arrived there we figured out that the entrance were sold out, so we couldn't go into the island. We decided to go to the Seaport Museum were also are presenting BODIES THE EXHIBITION. I wanted to see it but it was 25 dollars so we went to the ships gallery and see what they did in the ship called Peking. We saw how they dealt with storm, the rituals and celebreation that they had in the ship. Also how they did job like the print of newspapers. They had two galleries and Two ships. We went inside of one of the ships that was in the seaport and we saw all the rooms in the ship like the captain room. We have a lot of fun together.

Immigrants are the majority in the United State, they are in the agriculture, and they are in commerce of this country. I think The United State wouldn’t be anything without the effort and work of the immigrants. The United States should think in their benefits when they want to make laws for them. They should think the consequences and considerate them. I didn’t want to say “all the immigrants” are behaving correctly in term of immigrations conditions. The United State shouldn’t take unfair measure to those immigrants that are working very hard for this country. On the contrary, United States economy will stop if they deport a huge mass of illegal people but hardworking ones. Furthermore Latin people are the biggest mass in this country.

The most difficult think aspect of emigrating to The U. S. is leave your family and friends and has to adapt to a foreign cultures and different cultures from many countries.

When I went out the Dominican Republic and I past for Immigration there, a woman who mark the entrances and outs told us that my siblings cannot go out of the country because she hadn’t permission from the father and said “ I’m sorry they cannot go out because they are under 18”. She said that II could go because I was 18, but my siblings don’t. My mom said “well, what can I do, we already pass our luggage and if my children cannot go with me, I stay”. The woman kept saying that we needed permission from the father and if we hadn’t the permission my mom have to pay like 800 per each one. My mom was very wondered because she hadn’t enough money to pay for it. Then the woman told us that she can look up to see what she could do “to help us”. She told to my mom that how much did she had, my mom said “well I only have 80 dollars” and she answered “OK, give it to me but dissimulated because my supervisor is there” And she let us pass.
Till today I don’t know if she cheated us or what and maybe we needed permission but I think she bribe us.

BACHATA ( MY COUNTRY'S MUSIC)

Bachata is a genere of music that originally come from Dominican Republic. The genere have been listened since many many years in my country. We have various interpreter of this genere such as Anthony Santos and Aventura that have revolucionated the genere for all over the word.
Bachata genere was and still is considerate like " The sour" or "El amargue" because his lyric are about lack of love.
Aventura was and still is an explotion of this genere. "Obsesion" was their first single were they started to played for over The U.S.. This bachata band make this genere more "sabroso" to dance it because they have a mix from R & B, rock and hip hop but without go out of what is "Bachata". This band is a "Proud" of our country although some of their members rised here in NYC (The bronx) they have a Dominican Background. They revolutioned this genere for over Europe and in countries like Israel!! selling just in Europe a half million copies. These guys are really talented and they are handsome too!!!. I remember the music video called "La Boda" or "the wedding" that was filmed where i lived in Dominican Republic: "Santa Barbara, Colonial Zone).
Aventura is still revolitioning this genere with the phrase that they put in 2003: "We broke the rules". Bachata is a genere that keep mixing with other generes even with the singer Thalia "The Queen of soap operas" in Mexico. Thalia and Aventura have a single together called "No, no, no". Aventura have featuring with many artists from diferents generes like the reaggaeton ( Don Omar, "Ella y Yo"), ( Wissin y Yandel: "Noche de Sexo")and inside of Bachata also(Anthony Santos). The most recently proyect of Aventura is a music video with the rapper 50 Cents.
